General Ledger Fields to Enable Cross Entity Consolidated Balance Sheet and P&L Reporting

v21.17, JA-678

Overview

General Ledger Accounts have three fields that allow cross Entity consolidation when using unique General Ledger Account Numbers and Names. These fields can then be matched cross entity to allow consolidation when generating cross entity Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports.

A toggle can also be set to flag specific General Ledger Accounts as Inter-Company Charge Accounts. These Inter-Company Charge Accounts can be excluded or included when generating Cross Entity reports.

Setup

For any Chart of Accounts General Ledger Account with a unique Name and Account Number, the Consolidated values must be entered to allow Transactions to be linked and consolidated during Cross Entity reporting.

JAIX Accounts > General Ledger > Chart of Accounts >

Consolidated Account No.

  • Enter the General Ledger Account Number that will be used Cross Entity for Consolidated report generation.

Consolidated Account Name

  • Enter the General Ledger Account Name that will be used Cross Entity for Consolidated report generation.

Inter-Company Charge Account

  • This marks the General Ledger Account as Inter-Company, and allows these General Ledger Transactions to be filtered out of reports.

Functionality

PowerBI Data Sets will consolidate Cross Entity Chart of Accounts using the Account Number and Account Name to match General Ledger Accounts. In the case where a Consolidated Account Number and Consolidated Account Name is present, it will match using those values instead.
