Consignment Status - 'With Forwarding Carrier' Including EDI Support

Overview

Consignments can be marked as 'With Forwarding Carrier' via Jaix Freight or EDI.

This is for a scenario where a Subcontractor will be completing the final leg of a Consignment.

There are two methods for updating a Consignment Status to 'With Forwarding Carrier':

Allocation of a Delivery Leg to a Subcontractor Fleet via Allocations
EDI Import from Subcontractor

These will move the Consignment Status to 'With Forwarding Carrier (48)' to identify which Consignments are with the Subcontractor for Delivery.

Once the Delivery has been Completed, the Subcontractor can then EDI Export the Completed Date Time to close off the corresponding Consignment.

Alternatively, the Consignment can be Completed using the normal Jaix Freight methods.

Setup

Freight

Delivery Leg Allocation to a Subcontractor Fleet will only update Consignment Status to 'With Forwarding Carrier' when the Receiver Zone is flagged as Intrastate.

Jaix Freight > Depts & Zones > ZoneSets > [Main] >

Open the Zone you wish to flag as Intrastate.

EDI

Jaix Admin > System > EDI Formats >

EDI Format setup to Import With Forwarding Carrier Date Time fields.

Type = Update

Data Type = Consignment or Freight Job

Consignment With Forwarding Carrier Date/Time fields must match the Format String entered

Functionality

Jaix Freight> Distribution > Allocations >

Any Delivery Leg that's allocated to a Subcontractor Fleet, where the Consignment Receiver Zone is flagged as Intrastate will update the Consignment Status to 'With Forwarding Carrier'.

EDI

Just as with any other EDI Import, an EDI Format and EDI Profile must be used.

The EDI Format will have been created above as part of the setup process.

Jaix Admin > System > EDI Profiles >

Create an EDI Profile that uses the newly created EDI Format.

EDI Import of a flat file CSV/XML with the Jaix Consignment Number and Date Time fields will be processed and update the linked Consignment Status to 'With Forwarding Carrier (48)'.

If the Consignment Status has already been progressed beyond this point it will not be updated.
